We invented AI, and now we try to make sure no one suspects we used it. We carefully remove the traces from our writing, avoid sounding too polished, and stop using em dashes. We avoid purple in design, sparkle icons, and even the word AI itself.

I do not think this is because the result is necessarily bad. AI has simply become a signal that little effort went into the work. And if the author did not spend time on it, why should the reader?
